Geoffrey Farmer


Geoffrey Farmer is a Canadian artist, born 1967 in Eagle Island (British Columbia. He works and lives in Vancouver. Borrowing elements from conceptual and installation art, Geoffrey Farmer practices an aesthetics of accumulation to works that incorporate sculpture, video, performance, drawing and photography. His works are in constant transformation, often materialized from a found object, a memory or a dream. In a tone that combines poetry and social commentary, Farmer examines history, pop culture and art history, as well as the exhibition process itself, with its fictional power and its temporal aspect. In 2008, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal presented an major solo exhibition by Geoffrey Farmer.
