Drinks at 6pm, Screening at 7pm This filmic portrait of Guy de Cointet , the French-born, California-based artist, compiles interviews with friends and colleagues such as John Baldessari , Larry Bell , Richard Jackson , Morgan Fisher , Paul McCarthy , Robert Wilhite , Christophe Bourseiller , Violeta Sanchez, and Gus Foster . The composite portrait of the artist becomes the portrait of a scene—of L. A.’s underground art scene, the emergence of performance, and the junction of the ’70s and the ’80s. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with the film’s director and curator, Marie de Brugerolle .
