Performing Politicians with Larry Bogad


In his Museum of Russian History (M. I. R.) , Arseniy Zhilyaev compares Vladimir Putin’s publicity activities and compares it to performance art. On this occasion, author, performer, and the West Coast Director of the Center for Artistic Activism, Larry Bogad will deliver a performative lecture about “Tactical Performance,” lampooning the power-plays of political rulers. Bogad’s analysis will cite the recent paintings of George W. Bush and Mussolini’s theatrical Fascist failure, “18BL,” among other examples of this phenomenon. Following the lecture he will be joined in conversation by Arseniy Zhilyaev. Reception and cocktails at 6pm, talk at 7pm
