The Next Four Years (2011-2015)

Kadist Art Foundation celebrates Arrow Factory ’s latest publication The Next Four Years (2011-2015) , and the arrival of LEAP editors Fei Lai and Sasha Zhao in residence at Kadist until mid-February. Adding a sensory dimension to the evening’s activities, connoisseur and collector Lyn Jeffery will debut samples of her 10 and 20 year-old Shanxi aged vinegars acquired in 2015 during visits to Shanxi, China. Founded in 2008, Arrow Factory is one of the longest standing, fully independent, non-commercial art spaces in Beijing. Documenting the projects mounted in this storefront, The Arrow Factory: Next Four Years (2011-2015) features perspectives from organizers of influential artist-run initiatives around the world while offering a window into the diverse conditions that shape China’s current cultural climate. Cofounders Rania Ho and Wang Wei will be attending. LEAP is a bilingual art magazine of contemporary art and culture from China, presenting a mix of contemporary art coverage and cultural commentary on local and international art scenes. As part of the Kadist magazine residency, editors Fei Lai and Sasha Zhao are meeting with local artists, writers, editors and curators in the Bay Area with the intention of undertaking research towards upcoming issues, expanding their editorial scope and generating possible exchanges.
