Independent curator Chris Fitzpatrick presented video documentation of Mario García Torres’ I Am Not A Flopper Or… (2007), a monologue co-written with philosopher Aaron Schuster. Legendary film auteur Allen Smithee discusses his public persona and defends his prolific filmography during the 2007 Frieze Art Fair. However, Alan Smithee is actually a fiction, devised in the late 1960s to supplant the names of disgruntled filmmakers in cases of irreconcilable differences.
