Once Upon a Time, Movement
Inspired by the Folktale Archive, which gathers and publishes folktales from various migratory communities, artist Elham Rokni gathered stories from Sudanese and Eritrean refugees, the two largest asylum seeker communities in Israel. The stories were gathered orally, transcribed, and edited. In some cases the stories have been translated into English from Arabic or Tigrinya. Rokni’s drawing serves as a cover and backdrop for the audiobook.
