Talk at 7pm in Kadist-Office, Paris (Held in English) Please book your seat by sending an email to contact@kadist.org Maria Lind will introduce her project for the 11th Gwangju Biennale in South Korea (September 2-November 6, 2016), The Eighth Climate (What Does Art Do?) , of which she is the artistic director. This event is organised in the framework of the exhibition “Habits and customs of _______ are so different from ours that we visit them with the same sentiment that we visit exhibitions” curated by Biljana Ciric. Maria Lind is based in Stockholm and has been the director of Tensta konsthall since 2011, implementing a program that explores social roles of art. She was the director of the graduate program at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College from 2008–10. She was prevously director of lASPIS in Stockholm (2005–07) and Director of the Munich Kunstverein (2002–04). Previous to that she was curator at Moderna Museet in Stockholm (from 1997–2001) and in 1998 was co-curator of Manifesta 2. A compendium of her essays to date, Selected Maria Lind Writing , was published by Sternberg Press in 2010.
