This interview with Beatriz Santiago Muñoz was conducted by Michele Fiedler in Puerto Rico, 2016. Here, Beatriz discusses “Ojos Para Mis Enemigos” an investigation of an abandoned military site in PR which she conducted in collaboration with Pedro Ortiz, a member of the Ceiba community whose family was displaced when the military base was built. He was witness to the transformation of the site, and now has been working to reopen the grounds, to let them be left alone and not be developed. She also discusses “Prisoner’s Cinema”, the story of Elizam Escobar, a political prisoner for nineteen years whose “Anti-Diaries” written behind bars became revealed a hyper-sensitive transformation of thought and sense of place.
