Free of Maos, firecrackers, and calligraphy, Liu Wei ’s sculptures and paintings are often generated from computer programs. “Often people want to see what they expect in the work,” says Liu Wei, 42, sporting a gray crewneck sweater, 1950s-style glasses, and a clean-shaven head.
