Stay Alive to Life!
Stay Alive to Life! features a series of 255 posters by artist Piotr Szyhalski, made between March 25 and November 3, 2020, titled COVID-19: Labor Camp Report . Szyhalski’s diaristic posters trace the emotional experience, and political turbulence of the early months of the pandemic. Also exhibited is Transmission: A series of five Podcasts on Disease and Pandemics in a Distorted World , 2021 by artist Ines Doujak with John Barker. Concurrently, The Corner will host an ambitious “festival” of cultural and health-related events and programs to fortify a sense of resilience, both individual and collective. The festival will involve a series of conversations and activities about creative responses to adversity and the capacity to imagine a future. Developed by Ruth Noack, Sharon Sliwinski, Paula Castro-Martinez and Sol, Stay Alive to Life! will be presented live at The Corner, with some events streamed or in hybrid format. The festival is situated in an interior environment created by designer Fernando Santangelo, in collaboration with Markus Winter.
