Mario Garcia Torres residency


Solo exhibition opens at the Kadist Foundation Thursday September 20th, 2007 Mario Garcia Torres will be at Kadist in residency until October 2007. Mario Garcia Torres (Mexico, 1975) received an MA from the Universidad de Monterrey, and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. Some of his recent solo shows are: Te Invito a Mi Mundo , Jan Mot (Brussels) and Paradoxically, It Doesn’t Seem That Far From Here , Meyer-Riegger (Karsruhe). Among recent group shows are Elephant Cementery , Artists Space (New York); The Last Piece by John Fare , gb agency (Paris); Otra de Vaqueros , Laboratorio Arte Alameda (Mexico City); The Moscow Biennial (Moscow); Saturday Live Actions and Interruptions , Tate Modern (London). Among upcoming shows during 2007 are Think with the Senses – Feel with the Mind. 52 Biennale di Venezia (Venice), and solo exhibitions at the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam) and Kadist Art Foundation (Paris). Mario Garcia Torres was recently awarded the Cartier Award. He is represented by Jan Mot Gallery, Bruxelles
