Adam Carr


Adam Carr (born in 1981 Chester, UK) is an independent Curator and writer who is currently based in London and Paris. Some of the exhibitions he has curated include: – The Moment You Realise You Are Lost (Johann König, Berlin 2007) – SOME TIME WAITING (Kadist Art Foundation, Paris 2007) – The Show Will Be Open When The Show Will Be Closed (STORE Gallery and various locations, London, 2006 / Kadist Art Foundation and various locations, Paris, 2006) – Just For One Day (Kadist Art Foundation, Paris 2006) – Post Notes (ICA, London, 2005 / Midway Contemporary Art, Minneapolis, 2005) – EN ROUTE: VIA ANOTHER ROUTE (Tans-Siberian train: Moscow to Beijing, 2005) He served as a nominator and writer for Beck’s Futures 2006 (ICA, London). Forthcoming exhibitions he is curating (2007/08) will take place in: Paris, Prague, Mexico City, Berlin, Lisbon, London, and New York. He has been a contributing writer for Flash Art, Neue Review (Berlin), W [Art] (Porto), Janus Magazine (Brussels), File Magazine (Mexico), Newspaper Jan Mot (Brussels), UOVO (Turin), Aprior (Extra02 / Ghent) and Afterall (London). He has written monographic texts on the work of Jonathan Monk, Mario Garcia Torres, Angela Bulloch, Jason Dodge, Rodney Graham, Flávia Müller Medeiros, Tobias Rehberger, Danh Vo, Jordan Wolfson and Mungo Thompson. Catalogue texts he has written have been published by the Whitechapel Art Gallery (London); ICA (London); and Gamec (Bergamo – forthcoming), among others. He is a contributor to The Best Surprise Is No Surprise, published by e-flux & JRP|Ringier Kunstverlag AG.
