Weekly Picks: Indonesia (1 - 7 April 2019) | ArtsEquator Thinking and Talking about Arts and Culture in Southeast Asia Weekly To Do April 1, 2019 Top Picks of Indonesia art events in Bali and Jakarta from 1-7 April 2019 Every year, on the 21st of April, Indonesia celebrates the life of one of her women’s emancipation figures, Kartini. In conjunction to Hari Kartini and in an effort to continue supporting the works of Indonesian women, Futuwonder gathered 8 female artists from various background to talk about and create works around women issues in Indonesia, particularly taking the seeds of creation from what they observe in their daily lives. A collaboration between Uma Seminyak and Futuwonder, “Tanda Seru!” is presented as a call for hope and an avenue to raise question and start dialogues around women’s emancipation in Indonesia.
