Introduction While Thailand may appear as one of the more free countries with regard to cultural and artistic freedom of expression in Southeast Asia, the patterns in censorship tactics have expanded in the last ten years and warrant closer examination. Since 1980, the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances has recorded 82 cases of enforced disappearance in Thailand ¹.
